We believe that recreation and leisure activities are key to maintaining health and wellbeing. At Ferndale Gardens we promote a happy and vibrant lifestyle and ensure that there is always something fun and exciting for our residents to enjoy. Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible, with the support of our caring, highly trained and skilled staff.

The activity programme at Ferndale Gardens aims to engage and enrich our residents’ lives physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually as well as socially. We provide an extensive range of individual and group activity programs. These programs focus on the activities each resident enjoys doing, under the guidance of a Recreational Activity Officer (RAO).

Recreational Activities

Ferndale Gardens has our own bus to take our residents shopping and for other leisure outings arranged by the staff. Live entertainment is provided twice a month, a monthly birthday party for residents, monthly BBQs, weekly happy hour, newspaper readings, as well as arts, music, craft activities, board games, bingo and quiz. Our residents’ favourite activity is Lounge Chair Travels.

In-house Cinema

We have a beautiful art deco style cinema in-house, so that we can bring the joy of a wonderful cinema experience to our residents in the comfort of their home. Every Friday, we have a cinema session for our residents.

In-house Chapel

There is a chapel available for residents to attend Mass. Residents are free to practice their own religion with family and friends. We welcome our residents and their families to reserve the chapel and other spaces within Ferndale Gardens for special occasions, such as birthday celebrations.

Ageing in Place

At Ferndale we believe in Ageing in Place. We continue caring for our residents, adapting to increased care needs in their current environment/suite for as long as possible.
